Mars Coat King

Mars Coat King grooming tools help remove loose undercoat and reduce excess coat. Choose the blade spacing for the individual coat, then the head width and handle that suit the job. Browse wooden handles, plastic handles and matching replacement blade sets.

Which Coat King should I choose? Compare the grades

The figures below describe the gaps between blades on the standard replaceable-head range. They are not clipped coat lengths.

Grade Blade spacing Starting point
Coarse 5 mm Suitable thick, heavy coats
Medium 3.5 mm Suitable thick or wiry coats
Fine 2.5 mm Suitable coarse or wiry coats
Extra Fine 1.5 mm Suitable finer coats and finishing
Super Fine 0.8 mm Suitable fine, silky coats and finishing

These are starting points, not guarantees for every dog. Consider coat texture, density, condition and the finish you want. A wider head covers more area; more blades do not always mean finer spacing. For example, Extra Fine 20 and Extra Fine wide 30 share the same spacing, while Super Fine 20 is a different grade.

Handle and replacement choices: standard wooden- and plastic-handle tools have replaceable heads. The Home version has fixed blades. Match the grade, blade count and head width when buying spares.

Coat Kings can cut coat; seek specialist advice where preserving a hand-stripped or show finish matters. Compare stripping knives and grooming rakes for other coat-maintenance methods.
