Mars Coat King - fine, wood handle

Description

The Mars Coat King Fine with wooden handle helps remove loose undercoat and excess coat from suitable coarse or wiry coats. Its Fine blade spacing offers a closer pattern than the Medium range, with a choice of head widths for different grooming areas.

  • Blade spacing: 2.5 mm (Fine); this is the gap between blades, not a clipped coat length.
  • Construction: stainless-steel blades and a traditional wooden handle.
  • Maintenance: replaceable blade head.

Which Fine size should I choose?

  • 10 or 12 blades: standard-width options.
  • 23 blades: wide head for broader areas.

The wide 23-blade version covers more coat while retaining the Fine grade. For a more open pattern, compare the Medium Coat King. For finer coat or finishing work, consider Extra Fine options; suitability depends on the individual coat, not breed alone.

Prefer another grip? The Fine plastic-handle Coat King is available with 10 or 12 blades.

Replacement blades and careful use

Order Fine replacement blade sets by matching the grade, blade count and head width. Our Coat King buying guide explains the options in more detail.

Use gentle strokes in the direction of hair growth on a clean, dry, prepared coat. Avoid tight mats, delicate areas and repeated passes over the same patch. These are bladed tools and can cut coat; seek breed-specific advice where preserving a hand-stripped or show finish matters. Remove hair after use and store dry.
