Description
The Andis UltraEdge No. 5 skip-tooth blade gives a nominal 6.3 mm cut for initial shaping on a prepared dog coat. Its spaced tooth pattern is designed to feed coat during clipping, with a longer result than the No. 7 skip-tooth blade.
-
Cutting length: 6.3 mm nominal.
-
Blade type: Skip-tooth, standard-width detachable blade.
-
UltraEdge construction: hardened steel with a chrome finish to help resist corrosion.
A 6.3 mm blade for initial clipping
Choose this skip-tooth version for experienced professional use during the first stages of a clip. The No. 5FC finishing blade leaves the same nominal length with a full-tooth pattern for a more even finish. For a longer skip-tooth cut, compare the No. 4 at 9.5 mm.
Professional use: The open tooth pattern needs careful handling around skin folds and delicate areas. Andis advises that skip-tooth blades must not be used on cats.
Clipper compatibility
Fits compatible Andis detachable-blade clippers, including AGC models and the Andis Pulse ZR II, plus Oster A5 machines. Check your clipper's blade fitting before ordering; fixed-blade clippers and trimmers use different systems.
Blade care and coat preparation
Prepare and comb the coat before clipping, rather than forcing a blade through tangles. Lubricate frequently with Andis Clipper Oil, check heat during use and clear trapped hair. Clean and dry the blade before putting it away. Coat condition and clipping direction affect the final length.
