The Andis CeramicEdge No. 5FW wide blade leaves a nominal 6.3 mm coat length while covering a broader path than a standard-width blade. It is useful for clipping larger areas when you want more coat coverage than the shorter No. 7FW leaves.

Width and cutting length

The standard-width CeramicEdge No. 5FC has the same nominal 6.3 mm cut. Choose between them according to the area you are clipping and your clipper's compatibility. For a shorter result with a wide blade, the No. 7FW leaves 3.2 mm. Thorough brushing and combing help a longer blade feed through the coat evenly.

Andis lists compatibility with clipper model families AG, AGC, DBLC, MBG, SMC, RDLC and CCA. Check the model marking on your machine before ordering. Any guide comb must specifically fit this wide blade; standard-width combs are not interchangeable.

Oil regularly during use

Wide blades place extra load on the clipper, so maintain regular lubrication with Andis Clipper Oil and keep the teeth clear of hair. Ceramic cutters still become hot: check temperature throughout clipping and allow cooling when needed. Clean and dry after use. Coat preparation and clipping direction affect the finished length.
