The Andis CeramicEdge No. 10 wide blade gives a close, nominal 1.5 mm cut across a wider path than a standard No. 10. It is designed to cover more coat with each pass on suitable larger grooming areas, with a ceramic moving cutter to help reduce heat build-up compared with steel.

Width and cutting length

The extra width changes the area covered, while the nominal cutting length remains the same as the standard-width CeramicEdge No. 10. For a longer wide-blade finish, compare the No. 7FW at 3.2 mm. A 1.5 mm cut is close, so select the blade with the animal, skin and clipping area in mind.

Check wide-blade compatibility

Andis lists compatibility with clipper model families AG, AGC, DBLC, MBG, SMC, RDLC and CCA. Check the model marking on your machine before ordering. Any guide comb must specifically fit this wide blade; standard-width combs are not interchangeable.

Oil regularly during use

Wide blades place extra load on the clipper, so maintain regular lubrication with Andis Clipper Oil and keep the teeth clear of hair. Ceramic cutters still become hot: check temperature throughout clipping and allow cooling when needed. Clean and dry after use. Coat preparation and clipping direction affect the finished length.
