The Mars Coat King Coarse with plastic handle combines an open blade pattern with a practical grip for routine coat maintenance. It is intended for suitable thick, heavy coats where loose undercoat needs removing and a more widely spaced tool is appropriate.

  • Options: 6 or 8 blades; select your size.
  • Blade spacing: 5 mm (Coarse), not the length of coat left behind.
  • Construction: stainless-steel blades, plastic handle and replaceable head.

Choosing your Coarse Coat King

Both choices use Coarse spacing. The number identifies the blades in the head, so select the grade for the coat and the size for the working area. If you need a wider Coarse head, the wooden-handle range includes a wide 12-blade option.

Replacement heads and use

Use the matching Coarse replacement blade set, checking grade, blade count and head width. This replaceable-head tool is different from the fixed-blade Home version.

Work gently through a clean, dry, prepared coat in the direction of growth. Avoid forcing the blades through mats or repeatedly working one area. A Coat King can cut coat, so obtain specialist advice if maintaining a hand-stripped or show finish is important.
