A worn gear lever will reduce the cutting performance of clipper blades and can actually cause wear to the smaller cutting plate too if it is the tip which is worn.
Regular inspection and replacement when necessary will prevent this damage and ensure optimum cutting performance.
Gear box components should be lightly greased, DO NOT overfill the gear box with grease.
