The Aesculap GT770D is a 7 mm Favorita blade with a DLC coating for added resistance to wear. It provides a fuller clipped finish than the 5 mm Favorita size and retains the adjustable blade-pressure system used by this range.

What does the DLC coating add?

DLC stands for Diamond-Like Carbon. The surface coating helps reduce friction, resist wear and corrosion, and retain the cutting edge. The blade still needs regular cleaning, oiling and temperature checks.

Compare the blade options

The standard GT770 gives the same nominal 7 mm cut. For more retained length with a coated blade, the GT779D leaves 9 mm. Choose by the required finish, and brush and comb the coat thoroughly before using a longer cutting head.

Clipper compatibility and care

For Favorita-system machines including Aesculap Favorita 2 and Favorita CL, and Elektra models with the matching fitting. FAV5 and Durati use the separate SnapOn blade range. Follow Aesculap's instructions when setting Favorita blade pressure.

Lubricate with Aesculap clipper oil, remove trapped hair and allow a hot blade to cool before continuing. Clean and dry after use. Coat texture, preparation and clipping direction affect the finished length.
