The Heiniger No. 40 clipper blade leaves approximately 0.25 mm of coat. This is a specialist, very close-cutting blade for experienced users who need minimal coat left; it is not a general-purpose body finishing blade.

How close does a No. 40 cut?

It cuts closer than the Heiniger No. 30 blade (0.5 mm), while the No. 50 blade (0.2 mm) leaves less coat again. These small measurements represent very short finishes, so choose the length for a specific purpose rather than treating a higher blade number as a better all-round option.

Assess skin condition and the clipping area before use. Keep the blade moving carefully without pressing it into the skin, and stop if irritation, pulling or excessive heat develops.

Machine compatibility and care

Fits Heiniger Saphir and Heiniger Opal clippers. It does not replace a Style Mini or Style Midi trimmer head.

Fine cutting teeth need regular cleaning and lubrication. Remove trapped hair, check the blade temperature frequently and use appropriate clipper oil and blade-care products.
