Description

The Andis Blade Latch is the small retaining hook that sits beneath the hinge on compatible Andis detachable-blade clippers. Its job is simple but important: it helps keep the fitted blade held securely against the clipper during use.

When might the latch need replacing?

  • The blade lifts away from the clipper while running.
  • A correctly fitted blade still feels loose.
  • The retaining hook is visibly worn, cracked or broken.
  • Several known-good blades behave the same way on the same clipper.

Hinge or latch?

If the blade will not stay securely in place, inspect both the latch and the hinge. The hinge should remain open ready to accept a blade, while the latch helps hold that blade against the machine once fitted.
