This pair of replacement carbon brushes is for the Aeolus TD901GT, previously sold as the Monster blaster. Worn carbon brushes can cause a dryer to stutter, cut out or stop running altogether, so they are a useful service item to check when diagnosing motor problems.

When should the carbon brushes be replaced?

  • If the dryer stutters while running.
  • If the motor cuts out or stops completely.
  • If inspection shows the existing brushes are heavily worn.
  • Checking the brushes periodically can help reduce the risk of damage caused by running them beyond their usable life.

Important: two versions are available

There are two different carbon-brush types for the TD901GT / Monster, and they are not interchangeable:

  • Original type: supplied with pigtail and brass cap. Used with the larger original motor, approximately 5½" / 13.5cm in overall diameter.
  • New type: supplied with plastic mounting. Used with the newer, smaller motor, approximately 5" / 12.7cm in overall diameter.

The brushes for the smaller motor are shorter, so please check your motor before ordering and select the correct version above.
