The Andis AGC Carbon Brushes are replacement motor brushes for compatible Andis corded clippers. Carbon brushes are wear parts: over time they gradually shorten through normal use, and heavily worn brushes can cause intermittent running, loss of power or a clipper that stops altogether.

When should carbon brushes be checked?

  • The clipper cuts in and out while running.
  • The motor stutters or only starts intermittently.
  • The clipper has stopped despite the cable and switch appearing sound.
  • The existing brushes are visibly worn down.

Compatibility

Andis reference 27847 is used with a number of AGC-family machines, including AGC and AGC2 models, as well as several related BGC/AGP variants. Check the model marking on your clipper before ordering if you are unsure.

Supplied as a pair

This Diamond Edge listing supplies two carbon brushes so both sides can be serviced together. Replacing brushes as a pair helps avoid leaving one heavily worn brush in place alongside a new one.

Fitting advice

Disconnect the clipper from the mains before opening the housing. Carbon brushes sit within the motor assembly and should move freely in their holders once fitted. If you are not comfortable carrying out electrical clipper repairs, have the work completed by a competent repairer.
