Thrive 5500-2 Gear box

If there is a lot of play in the gear box and replacing the gear box parts does not solve the problem, the pins in the gear box may be loose, reducing cutting performance.
Also if the blade fitting dovetail plate is loose, and the screws will not tighten up satisfactorily, the threads in the gear box may have become worn.
The gear box can be replaced by an electrician or other competent person.
