If the clipper stops driving the blades and makes a grinding or screeching noise, the gear wheel may have been damaged.
This is most often caused by over-tensioned or corroded clipper blades.
The gear wheel failing protects the motor from more serious and expensive damage, and is simple to replace.
Gear box components should be lightly greased, DO NOT overfill the gear box with grease.
