* If blades stop cutting correctly, check the tip of the gear lever for wear. * Lightly grease individual gear box components only when replacing parts. |

* If clipper stutters when first switched on, it may indicate dirty or corroded switch contacts. * Switch requires soldering. |

* If the switch cover is damaged or split, hair can get inside the switch, and cause an intermittent contact.

* Hinge should stay open when blades are removed, ready to receive the next one. * If it shuts too easily, it should be replaced. |

* Small black hook which fits under the hinge, holds the blades onto the clipper when in use. * If broken, blades may lift off the clipper in use, so it should be replaced. |
